This is my Lesson Plan from Chapter 3 in "Betting on Yourself" by Dr. Robert Anthony.
Written in January, 2009.

Probability? Statistics?

I have always hated these terms. I always heard
things like “you’ll probably be pregnant by the time you’re 16” or “you’ll
probably never get married” or “you’ll probably end up in jail like your dad”

And statistics? What are the statistics that a young unwed mother will
end up on welfare? Or what are the odds that a high school drop out will never
have a high paying job?

I have always tried to defy the law of
probability and statistics, which only resulted in my limited outlook on life. I
never used the term “superstitious” but I made myself believe that all my
misfortunes and bad experiences were a result of a “curse” or “spell” that was
cast upon my mother before my birth. In fact, I told myself that lie for over 20
years.

Had I realized that I was the creator of my life, I could have
taken the necessary steps to make changes long ago. Instead I held on to my
superstitious beliefs and it caused me at times, unbearable pain, hurt and
anger.

Only in the past year have I received the knowledge that I am
responsible for everything in my life. It was a tough pill to swallow at first,
because how can I blame myself for the awful things that have happened to me?
But with the help of MFF over the past 5 months. I have learned not only how to
accept it, but WHY I have created the life that I have. My reality is the direct
result of choices I have made, not the result of some “curse” that was presented
to me at birth.

And just the fact that I am now aware of this, in all
probability, I can now change my life. And that is a probability that I can
accept.

My Story

Hello. Thank you for stopping by :)

My name is Angela Hernandez from South Ga, originally from Northern PA. I am a mother of 6 and a grandmother of two... My oldest is married and I am raising my 5 boys. My career history has been the criminal justice field. In the year 2000, I had to quit my job due to pregnancy complications.

In order to make ends meet, I started making hand-crafted jewelry and selling at flea markets. I also did alot of buying/reselling.

Soon after, I was introduced to my first network marketing company. It came and went so fast I do not even remember much about it.

Over the next 7 years I joined and failed several different MLM companies. Just to name a few (Xango, Pre-Paid Legal, Coastal Vacations, Platinum One Destinations, GDI, Liberty League International and more) I spent upwards of $20,000 on these companies, programs, tools and buying leads. I did EVERYTHING my uplines were teaching me to do. It just wasn't working. WAS IT ME? Was I just destined to fail at ANYTHING I do?

In 2007 I was introduced to Michael Dlouhys book "Success in 10 Steps". I read it with a passion. I thought "HECK, I REALLY like this man. He is funny" I promptly discarded it because he didn't know what he was talking about. I mean, everything HE said was just the OPPOSITE of what my upline was telling me to do. And NO, I was not having ANY sucess, but I had invested too much money into THIS company to throw it all away :-

Fast forward one year later. 2008. August 2008. My life had took a turn for the worse. My situation had caused me to lose my savings, my home and more. I came across the book again. I read it again. THIS TIME, it seemed to be entirely different than what I read the first time. I thought "HECK, I REALLY like this guy. He knows EXACTLY why I have been failing all these years and he explained how it WAS NOT MY FAULT!"

I called Michael at home. Told him my story. He listened. He asked if I was coachable. I said YES! He sent me some audios. I listened to them and called him back several hours later. He plugged me into some live training calls and I was HOOKED. For the next few weeks I was either on a live call or I was listening to a recorded audio. I was a SPONGE. I could NOT get enough of Mentoring for Free.

What I learned over them few weeks was life-changing. mainly in my personal life. The Mental Cleanse call was a life saver for me. I still did not have the belief that I could be successful in MLM though. I learned that the company I was involved in was NOT a 5 pillar company. learning that was bittersweet. It was devastating to realize I had just wasted 2 years of my life and threw over $10,000 down the drain. BUT, at the same time, I had a renewed sense of hope.

I did not immediately jump into another company. I listened to so much training, it was if I knew Michael Dlouhy personally. In September 2008, I was able to meet Michael, shake his hand and give him a GREAT BIG HUG!

My belief grew. I found my 5 pillar company. I put everything I learned into practice. I still did not see major results for the next year, but I was also using the "Slight Edge" philosophy. By early 2010 I had accomplished things I NEVER would have believed possible 2 years earlier. It is much easier to move forward now because now, I know exactly what was holding me back.

NOW, I have a VISION. I have DESIRE. I have the BELIEF that I can move mountains. ALL of this is possible because at the time when I DIDN'T have the belief in myself, I borrowed Michaels and Sarah Thompsons and Henrietta Hakes.

TODAY, I absolutely LOVE what I do. I LOVE being able to help people however I can. Whether it is helping them to be more successful in their company with our FREE training, helping them find a 5 pillar company, learning the color personalities, or even introducing them to the Mental Cleanse.

~WORDS~ (a poem)

Words that hurt like heartache,
cuts you like a knife.
Shattering the least bit of hope,
that was left in your life.

Words that kill the soul,
and leaves you there to die.
Feeling the unbearable pain,
where all you can do is cry.

Words better left unspoken,
that are used in anger & hate.
Mere expressions of our feelings,
that are noticed all too late.

Words not only cause pain,
but death in many ways.
Where do these words come from,
and do we mean what we say?

Or are we hiding our own fears,
from the scars that were left behind?
By using the words of death,
what are we trying to find?

That we can hurt others,
and control the way they feel?
That we can bring them down,
as their happiness we steal?

But after the words are spoken,
how do you feel inside?
Does it make you feel special,
or do you feel the need to hide.

And all them times you caused pain,
and left them there for dead?
How many times did you pray after,
to take back the words you said?

The Secret to Success in Network Marketing

OK, So you love your company? GREAT! You absolutely adore the founder of your company? GREAT! Your upline (and downline if you have one) are like family now? GREAT!!!!!

BUT, there is only one problem? You have not received a profitable check yet. Or maybe you have spent a countless number of hours doing EVERYTHING the “leaders” in your company have told you to do, you still aren’t having ANY results.

As a matter of fact, it is soooo bad, you have even thought about……………… QUITTING???????

Did you know that success does NOT come from cold calling hundreds of people that you bought from a lead company. Most of the names on those lists DO NOT want what you have to offer. Heck, MY name is even on some of those lists..

Success also does not come from making your own lists of your friends and family. And I know, because I did that for 7 years. That is the reason my friends & family hid from me for years. (They have just recently came out of hiding)

Success does not come from conducting dozens of presentations on your company , spamming/puking your opportunity on EVERYONE you come across, printing & hanging fliers in every grocery store, handing out Cds, paying hundreds of $$ on advertising, etc. You get the picture, right?

What DOES success come from? Success comes from duplication. Yep, duplicity. It doesn’t matter if you sponsor 20 people a day using the methods above, because more than likely, those 20 people CANNOT do what you do so they will eventually QUIT. You will NEVER be able to build a large organization because people will be quitting as fast as you sponsor….. Unless of course you’re a mega sponsor monster guru, which most of us ARE NOT.

Where else does SUCCESS come from? LEARNING SKILLS! You can spend 32 hours a day working on your business, but if you don’t have the skills, then it WON’T work.

Network Marketing/MLM is a tough industry. Not many come out without some bruising and scar tissue. But to have success in this industry, always REMEMBER: “You Must Become a Student of the Industry” Yes, It is smart to know what is going on with your company and to understand how it functions, but if you really want to be a leader, you MUST be student of the industry. If you want proof, look at the top leader in your company, no doubt he/she is a student of the industry.

You need skills. You need generic skills. You do not want to learn skills from someone with an agenda. And wouldn’t it be GREAT if you can learn EVERYTHING you need to know without paying a dime, or nickel, or penny? ;-)

Bottom Line: If your STRUGGLING, you need to know that your lack of success is NOT your fault. That is one of the first things we will teach you. If you are serious about wanting to OWN YOUR LIFE and if you are COACHABLE, take these 3 EASY, DUPLICATABLE steps and find out exactly what has been holding you back. Desire

DESIRE

The dictionary describes “desire” as “to wish or long for; crave; want” and “an expressed wish; request”

Napoleon Hill says that desire is the starting point of ALL ACHIEVMENT.

I myself have never felt desire so strong than I did in the year 2008. My desire consumed me day and night. I slept, ate and breathed desire. In my mind, I already had the object of my desire. Everything I done throughout the day revolved around the idea that my desire had already taken form. Never a single doubt crept into my mind. And on October 21, 2008, my desire came into existence.

I have never felt such a strong desire for anything until then, and I have not felt it since that time. But I DO know what the POWER OF DESIRE can do. I have seen with my own eyes, felt with my own being, exactly what the POWERS OF THE UNIVERSE can do when your desire is strong enough.

How can a person reach that point? Napoleon Hill says that any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought. He also goes on to tell us that we are what we are, because of the vibrations of thought which we pick up and register, through the stimuli of our daily environment.

He uses the example of Edwin C. Barnes. Mr. Barnes had a burning desire, one consuming obsession of his life, to become a business associate of Thomas Edison. Barnes’ desire was not a hope! It was not a wish! It was a keen, pulsating, desire, which transcended everything else. It was a DEFINATE!

Edwin C. Barnes stood by his desire until it became the dominating obsession of his life- and - finally a fact. He left himself no possible way of retreat. He had to win or perish!

Procrastination

Procrastination comes in many forms. It can have long-term devastating effects. People have suffered financial loss/ruin, loss of health, loss of family and the list goes on and on.

Procrastination is NOT lack of organizational skills and/or time management. As a matter of fact, a procrastinator can be highly organized.

Why would anyone having this information choose to procrastinate? Because for most people it is not a choice. It is a way of life. For most people, putting off today what can be done tomorrow, gives them a sense of accomplishment because they know they are only one day away from their goal. Problem is, that day never comes. They spend more time creating excuses and alibis than they do getting the job done.

You read stories everyday about the man that dies from a heart attack because he kept putting off changing his diet until it was too late. Or how about the criminal who ends up in prison because he wanted to wait one more day before walking the right path. The gambler, the drug addict, the abusive partner?

OLD MAN PROCRASTINATION: Affects millions of people everyday. Robs individuals of their time, freedom and life. It causes sickness and disease and takes away a persons self-worth. There is absolutely NOTHING positive about procrastination. It affects all walks of life regardless of status, race or gender.

How can a person avoid or break free from the procrastination trap? There are tons of “self-help” books and programs out there but the bottom line is going to be self-development. Here is a few ways to stop the silent killer. Future articles will discuss these in further detail.
